This was a compilation derived from two earlier Dalriada albums released in the 1990s. The tracks were reworked with some editing, overdubbing and remastering giving them an updated feel. The tenth track, a tribute to Burns, was a new piece.

The material was a mixture of original and traditional songs alongside instrumentals. The compliment of musicians who featured came from the cream of the Scottish crop.

THE SLEEPING CHILD (Kennedy/Sorley)

V1
Wake the sleeping child the time has come
Ring the kirk bell beat the battle drum
Sing your freedom song
We’ve been waiting for so long
The lion heart beats strong
Let this wind of change take you along

V2
You need not be afraid any more
The brave new world is there outside you door
Keep the dream alive
Brothers sisters heed the call
See the mighty fall
We’ll walk with pride standing tall

CH1
Raise your head
We’re moving on now there’s no turning back
Brace yourself
Hit the road running fast
Make like it’s going to last

V3
Sing your freedom song
We’ve been waiting for so long
The lion heart beats strong
This wind of change takes you along

CH2
Raise your head
We’re moving on now there’s no turning back
Brace yourself
Hit the road running fast
Make like it’s going to last
Say what you want to say
Be what you want to be

THIS LAND (Kennedy/Sorley)

V1
Look out your window open your eyes
It’s not hard to see you’re living next door to paradise
Down by the river below the willow tree
I’ll be waiting so come and join me

V2
There’s too many people afraid to give in
To open their hearts and minds to the yearning within
It’s no mystical secret only desire
If you want it you’ll find it without walking on fire

CH
It’s all around you
Reach out and touch it and see
You belong to this land and this land is your destiny

V3
You talk about leaving whatever the price
But are you aware of the personal sacrifice
Maybe some day you’d look back and see
You were closer to heaven when you were with me

GOOD ENOUGH (Kennedy/Sorley)

If you want me take me as I am
If you don’t well that’s just tough
I’ve learned to live with what they always told me
Sometimes’s good’s not good enough

I gave up trying when I
Found that I was lying to myself

I could take you to the place I’m going
Where even strong hearts find it tough
Give me your best and I will make it better
Just being good’s not good enough

Don’t be afraid to stand for
What your heart believe’s in

So follow on for hope and love and glory
Don’t expect help from above
If you can make it to your destination
You’ll find that good is good enough

Give me a reason
Why I’m the one to see this through
Is there a hope in hell
It’s something you would want to do
Show me you’re not laughing to yourself

So if you want me take me as I am
If you don’t well that’s just tough
When I make it to my destination
I’ll know that good is good enough
I’ll know that good is good enough
I’ll know that good is good enough

DIFFERENT CLASS (Sorley/Kennedy)

V1
Show me a troubadour I’ll give you the best I’ve got
Better than that man, maybe the best of the lot
Show me a superstar never to fall from grace
I'll show you a radical cream of the human race

BR1
The truth about your life I want to know
Tell me the truth about your life
How it came to be this way

CH
You’re different class
I cannot see past you
Rulers and kings do powerful things
They never outlast you
See the beau-monde take a different view
Let the bravehearts do what they do
You’re different class
We could step up change the world eventually

V2
Show him in celluloid, show him with feet of clay
Crude as a rude-boy, good for a roll in the hay
Or praised like a patron saint, made up and set in stone
Harder than hardcore, he'd rather be stripped to the bone

BR2
The world misunderstood a tinder heart
Said that if he could
He’d wipe away the tears from all eyes

MID
Gonna be a long time coming
Man to man will brothers be
For auld lang syne, for auld acquaintance
We could change the world eventually

LYING'S RAMPANT (Sorley/Kennedy)

V1
Freedom sold with a heart of gold
Nothing to gain in return
Union proud to be free allowed
To rule the waves never be slaves again

Three hundred years of hopes and fears
Beginning to tell on you
That’s old enough to be fair enough
The flower is not ascending and words are never-ending

CH1
London calling me I’m going round and round again
London calling the odds are falling
Never be the same again

V2
I am only afraid at most
Of missing the turn of the tide
Where nations bound by states and crowns
Have nothing left to offer but pride

But I can’t help but think there’s a fix on the brink
And there’s no one to comfort me
So it’s goodbye to most of that heavenly toast
The lions heart is breaking the Old Pretender’s faking

CH2
London calling me I’m going round and round again
London calling me I’m going down

CH3
London calling me I’m going round and round again
London calling the odds are falling
Never be the same again
London calling me I’m going up and down again
London calling me
I’m coming back again
I’m coming back again

Goin’ round and round again
Goin’ round and round again
