A list here compiled from memory, in no particular order, of some hits from 1964 which captured my imagination then. I would've listened to them on pirate radio in bed at night, under the covers, with a mono earpiece plugged into a tiny transistor.
I was 7-8 years old and very taken with what I was hearing. We had our summer holiday in London when the Beatles were everywhere and British pop music was spreading across the world. I think of that year as a watershed.
